Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association invites Chester County author Bruce Mowday to participate In three upcoming events in Gettysburg

Mowday asked to talk and sign books in Maryland during Memorial Day weekend

DOWNINGTOWN _ Bruce Mowday, author of two books on the Civil War, has been invited to take part in three upcoming events in Gettysburg in the coming months, including Sunday when the organization takes part in a salute to volunteers.

“Association President Barb Mowery called this week and I was thrilled to be asked to take part,” Mowday said. “Besides the event for volunteers I’ll be signings at the group’s annual Civil War Collectors’ show in June and the three-day re-enactment in July.”

Mowday’s latest book is Pickett’s Charge: The Untold Story and his first book was Unlikely Allies: Fort Delaware’s Prison Community in the Civil War. A third book on the Civil War, J. Howard Wert’s Gettysburg, is scheduled for release by Schiffer Books in the coming months.

Mowday is also scheduled to talk and sign books at the Civil War event during Memorial Day weekend at Chesapeake Beach, Maryland.

Mowday is an award winning author and newspaper reporter. He has authored more than 16 books on history, sports, business and true crime. Mowday was appeared on the Discovery ID channel, C-SPAN, the Pennsylvania Cable Network and Philadelphia and local television shows. He is a contributing editor with Business 2 Business magazine. Mowday has hosted his own radio shows and was chairman of the Chester County Historical Society and president of the Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates.  He is a frequent speaker at various civic and historic groups.
