Downingtown Historical Society hosts
author Bruce E. Mowday and artist Adrian Martinez
for talk on Lafayette at Brandywine
Mowday has five events scheduled in March
WEST CHESTER _ Author Bruce E. Mowday will join artist Adrian Martinez on Sunday, March 5 to give a presentation at the Downingtown Historical Society on Lafayette at Brandywine: The Making of an American Hero.
Martinez’s painting of Lafayette at the battle of Brandywine is used as the cover of Mowday’s book, released by Barricade Publishing. Martinez and Mowday will talk about the creation of Adrian’s painting and the book.
The event begins at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 at the historic Ashbridge House, 849 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Artist prints and author books will be available for sale.
On March 6, Mowday will give a presentation on Lafayette at Waverly Heights, Gladwyne, beginning at 4:30 p.m. “I’m looking forward to the presentation. Waverly Heights is a wonderful venue to talk about Lafayette.”
Mowday, who has authored more than 20 books on history, true crime, sports and business, has written two books connected with the battle of Brandywine. On Saturday, March 17, Mowday will join author Mary Walsh at the Glen Burnie, Maryland, craft fair to sign books. The event takes place from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Glen Burnie High School, 7550 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd.
Mowday will appear at Tel Hai Retirement Community, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, on March 20 at 7:00 p.m. to talk about his books and writing.
Hershey’s Mill, West Chester, is hosting a talk and signing by Mowday on his book on Richie Ashburn, Why the Hall Not. The talk takes place at the Sullivan House and begins at 2:00 p.m.
